It was called o-gaming: web.archive.org/web/20030509051201/http://www.o-gaming.com/That's from the very beginning, when I was VP, but the point remains. (Interesting sidenote: someone on that page stole $12,000 from me, guess who it was!) I guess you and I see the term differently, but when I think "Ok, that guy is a master and that other guy is an old master" it just seems obvious that the implication is that one is current while the other is not. If you consider it to be a "promotion", then why not ask Tchichi and I if we would like to receive it, rather than forcing it on us? He doesn't want it, and neither do I, and it's a cosmetic change that benefits nobody.

You bragged at one point about your #1 win percentage, when (a) it wasn't actually #1, and (b) you and I both know it's a meaningless statistic. I needed to address this too, because it's incorrect. At the time that I put it on my profile, counting players who had played over 100 games, it was the highest. At some point awall got over 100 and mentioned to me that his was higher, so I removed the #1. I certainly wasn't "bragging" about it, it was a stat on my profile just like the rest of them. I could also argue that ladder score is meaningless, and the last person I lost to/killed is meaningless, but those are still on my profile too. It seems that the percentage is #1 again, however, so I should update my profile to reflect that.

You did not write that it only counted players who had played over 100 games; not at the beginning, at least, and I don't recall ever seeing it there. Regardless, it's certainly not there now, so it is once again an inaccurate claim.
Edit: And who stole $12k from you? That sounds like an interesting story.

What is "the issue at hand"? I think you summarized the conclusion of our master / old master discussion well: "I guess you and I see the term differently." What exactly do you want me to address?
For me, making sure that the claims I make are accurate is anything but pointless bs. But I guess you and I see that differently, too.

I didn't summarize, I asked you a question, so I guess I'll ask it again:
If you consider it to be a "promotion", then why not ask Tchichi and I if we would like to receive it, rather than forcing it on us? He doesn't want it, and neither do I, and it's a cosmetic change that benefits nobody.

Why not remove the title entirely?

"Rightly to be great is not to stir without great argument, but greatly to find quarrel in a straw when honor's at the stake." Hamlet's words. Clearly this is a straw. But here's an exercise for the reader: What is honor? Is it what somebody else calls you? Or is it how you act?
It's a bizarre world you live in, where people have to ask your permission in order to change how they phrase something on their web site. Who do you think you are?
Nobody else find the change insulting. Please get over it.

Why not remove the title entirely? I have to admit I was sorely tempted to do just that. But I think that would have been more than a little mean-spirited on my part.

I chuckled at my title change, and I approve. And just when we were all beginning to think he was fond of his new title... How about you address something important, like the issue at hand, instead of giving me the run-around with all this pointless bs? Uh, you mean the bs that you introduced with the whole president/vice president business of the biggest online magic league in history, and the supposed scam where you lost thousands to.... let me guess, the new president of the company, right? Welcome to the minus world, my friend. If you weren't able to ever get there in Super Mario Bros ( and now look out for Mario pop-up banners on this page ), you can now easily delve deeper and deeper into the minus world here. It just gets better and better. Say, let me be your guide! ;D

I still think there was some way out of the negative world. Such an odd level.

I agree... eerily quiet...
