The Fantasy Team Contest is a crapshoot. Warlocks isn't, and never should be.

I certainly did not mean to stir up a hornet's nest. My apologies.
Thanks again for setting this up and running it.
I will now go duck under a rock for awhile.

The Fantasy Team Contest is a crapshoot. Warlocks isn't, and never should be. Bah, don't go raining on my parade. Speaking as the reigning Dream Team champion (*hangs hat*, yep, it's an honour), I gotta say, while there is an element of luck involved, it is hardly a crapshoot...

I am interested to hear who people thought were "bargains"...having put my picks in, i have one clear bargain in mind...lets wait until the Pods are announced and mention who we thought were bargains and why...(without giving away our picks/all our picks)...
..would a discussion of this sort be within the rules, oh mighty adjudicator?

Soitenly.
...sorry if I've been a bit snappy about this stuff. I set limits for a living, and sometimes it seeps through a little online.

Yeah, I definitely found a few bargains... and one blatant rip-off...

Just going over the list one last time and i noticed Spacca was noted as being Master Warlock. Is that an official title? I've always been way out of the loop when it comes to secret identities. I still have no idea what names Slucker and Taliesin still play/dance under...if i had to take a guess i would say that Spacca is Tchichi, but i could be wrong.
If so, this tourney has pulled back a few names, which is good. I wonder, slucker or Tali: if Pig, Yaron, Exdeath, Tchichi and Prioli came back for this tournament, would you be in?

Well, now, who was runner-up to surial in 2004?
As regards your question: I don't know. I don't think so. I told myself I'd retire, and that it would be final, and so far I've been pretty good at sticking to that. The prospect of beating Prioli tempts, but probably not enough to lure me back.

Although only one is playing, five of the 'Masters' are participating in the Fantasy Team Contest. What keeps me from wanting to play now is really just my job and my schedule. I don't have the energy or the mental investment to play intense matches under pressure. (And under time pressure. ExDeath and I couldn't even finish a game in two months. ) That would still be true if everyone else came back, though I would doubtless send a fleet of VFs their way. And as far as alts go, I've used several in the past -- all either explicit or fairly obvious -- but currently use just Slartucker.

Are you participating in the Contest yourself, Slarty?

Well, I've put together a team as if I were participating. It won't actually count for the Contest, though.

The only thing I will say about my roster is that it has 5 players on it, and I think that's the best way to go in this format. 3 players can only get so many wins, no matter how good they are.

i can probably guess that a couple players show up on a lot of teams. Which makes me rethink my team...

Yes, I think you're probably right on that count, exdeath. I submitted 3 and I think that was probably a bad call.
