I think my first duel was started with a C/C, because I thought that Magic Mirror and then FireElemental + Fireproof could be a nice strike. Of course, the man who got me into this took the task of teaching me how wrong I was.
Then I started using D/P, because he explained me that it is a very powerful opening, with lots of exploding points, as I realized later. Now that it's gonna be a year and something since i started, I still think i almost know nothing about the game.
I have opened my games with D/P (I still use it in most of my games), then S/S, then S/P, and lately I'm coming to F/* variants. F/S seem to be a very good opening for me, however, F/W has given very good results, as well.
As I said, I'm totally newbie to this compared to most of you, but I wanted to contribute with something to the thread.

well... D/W - D/D - D/P - F/P (!) and now 50% F/P and 49% F/D If you are playing a not-paraFC battle F/FoD is really hard to defend against.

Opening with an F lends to an easy antispell... ps - jellybelly! ha!

Dubber Versus F/P that's far from guaranteed blindness.

Dubber Versus F/P that's far from guaranteed blindness. In a non-FC game it's guaranteed, actually

I think Dubber is only talking about using it against first turn para/fod, right? He's right about that obviously, but no good player will continue para/fod against a DW/PS open, so it's not terribly relevant...

He's right about that obviously, but no good player will continue para/fod against a DW/PS open, so it's not terribly relevant... First turn was the origin of the block, back before we were all so subtle and accomplished, but as long as the D/P happens when the F/P happens it doesn't matter which turn. Plus, we're still talking about in non-FC games. Blindness in an FC game is much harder (read "not gonna happen" against today's moderate to good players) to pull off.

Obviously, monsters and damage may encourage the Blindness caster to do something else
