Uh, I've found myself a bit confused - I need to play 1 game against each of 3 opponents in round 1? Or not?

Bummer on the force surrender, Saypin. I counted my days away wrong.

Saypin, I've already stated this several times, if your opponent is taking more than a couple days to submit moves, or more than a day twice during the battle, please inform me immediately. Since tournament rounds are only 2 weeks long, no turn should really ever take more than a day to complete. Best pace would be 3-4 turns a day. If I don't know about the slow play, I can't punish the slow player when the game goes unfinished later. Thanks.

I know this, but it was accidentally cause I have to play from the phone -GPRS (I like my Inet provider SO MUCH). ..., I've lost my chance to play an interesting battle...

I'm without power (Dayton, OH USA). Looks like it'll be that way for a few more days. I'll continue to make a move or two from work, but can't play as fast as I'd like.

Can some of the more experienced players highlight and comment on specific tournament matches that would show insight into advanced strategy? It's hard to look at random games, especially if I don't recognize people's names, most of the time the moves are the obvious ones. If someone could point out good matches that are worth examining, perhaps with added commentary, it would be very instructive to new/returning warlocks. For example, you could highlight the "turning points" of the match.

I quite like my game against Awall. It tended to go in classic Awall v xade fashion, in that initiative swung ever so slightly between the two of us, until we bring it to a single decision point that makes, or breaks the game. games.ravenblack.net/warlocks?num=66945&full=1Sadly, I'm not very good at post-game analysis. Though if you ever have any questions about why I chose a move that I chose, feel free to ask.

Well, the turning point in the game was on turn 21 when xade made a ballsy play and came away with an Ogre. I'm still a bit curious why the F on turn 20. I assume xade understands why PSF vs. PSD is a bad play, but in this case it worked.
I agree with ExDeath; in the long run making the safe, high-percentage plays will win more games than playing by the seat of your pants will. But xade and I are so closely matched that our games often come down to decision points where you might as well flip a coin. In our previous game, luck favored me. In this game, it did not.

I made that move for two reasons. 1. I was behind and needed to get some bigger decision points on board. 2. You fire the Charm Person. I think you're even more predicible with it that Toyo.

2. You fire the Charm Person. I think you're even more predicible with it that Toyo. Actually, I strongly considered flipping a coin on that play. I know that statistically, a coin toss will leave me ahead in that position, and behaving randomly negates any chance you have of psyching me out. But in the end I decided I'd play chicken with you, and look what happened. :-P

I've been known to steal a giant or two....Bio, Succat? But yes, i do and will always go for the charm person. But this is a great, if dangerously self defeating topic. what are people's tells? Let me go open a thread...
