I recently hurt my foot, and although at first I thought it was a bone fracture, now I realize it's actually a torn ligament. It's either the ligament below the ball of my foot ("turf toe"), or the one that hold my big toe into the joint, I'm not sure. Anyway...I was wondering if anyone here has ever torn a ligament in their foot, and if so, how serious did it become, and where might I find special "stiff" insoles to put in my shoes? I can't even stand to use my whiteboard.

Hmmm, I think you'll need to get one of those special whiteboards that people use when they're sitting. I believe they are called- Whiteboards. Get well mate- sounds painful!

Ya, the capital W is very important for the sitting down crowd. Makes them feel special.

For what it's worth, to promote my interest in whiteboard technology, I can tell you that mirrors make excellent whiteboards as well. Just make sure you use dry-erase markers.
Unfortunately, the whiteboard I use is 4'x2', so it's not suitable for lapwork. I've been scribbling down lines in a notebook instead.

That's what I did during the year that I played. I actually had an entire binder full of loose leaf pages divided into several sections. Most of that was just excrutiatingly robust analyzes of openings.

I used to work out my lines in text editors. You'll need to use a fixed-width font, obviously, but I found it very helpful.

What is this 'working out lines' you speak of? I just made dice with the gestures and roll them. Much easier that way.

To get back on topic - while I've never torn a ligament, I can attest from witnessing those who have that it can be in fact even worse than a fracture. Best thing to keep in mind is - DON'T RUSH RECOVERY. The last thing you want to do is think you're 100%, just to re-injure yourself.
