I've played agains't most of those player except Prioli, and Justix is the one i'd vote for. Not that my opinion has that much value over players who have played for 2 more years than me, or has 200+ elo than me Drewski/Spamwise was good, but more in "my range" than the other (I've played 20+ games against him since back then I was very active and him also). He was good, but not as much as Justix Spacca is who's secondary persona, if I may ask...?

oh right, cheers about spacca sasuke n tragorn, didnt know that. who are their alter egos? and why change? in response to someones comment about looking the best one up on ELO ranking- that's exactly what i was doing, ogling over the best in the business when the question first came into my head, and my original list is of the non-registered warlocks who are highest on ELO (including inactives). This is probably why I didn't notice Prioli and Justix then. So who do we think is the best current non-registered player i.e. the best of the stingy bastards? Toyo? Rycchus? again I'd be interested to know what people think...

drewski has picked up a lot lately, currently second unregistered player by ELO, which is why I mentioned him. I assume it's a recent thing as spamwise is still much lower down.

Best current non-registered Warlock? As in, best active non-registered Warlock? Hmm, that's a trickier question. I'd still vote Justix if he counts, or has he gone away again? He's semi-active, at least.

I'm voting Prioli, of course. He was the only top warlock who had an overall winning record against me, before his departure.
And then I'd vote for Justix, who had an incredible analytical ability - unfortunately, he seemed to find the game stressful and would go from very intense study of it to disappearing altogether.
Alts, laxen: Spacca was Tchichi, Sasuke is ExDeath, tragorn was/is calmon.

I believe ExDeath/DeathEx/Sasuke has links on his profile explaining what each account's supposed to be for. Alaric has a similar "organised" approach with AlaricKaos as to which games he plays where.
Players may leave (either temporarily or permanently) their main accounts for a number of reasons, and sometimes when they do they decide they still want to play. Some of them just play for fun (VFs) whilst others storm the charts with their new "1500" alter-ELO...
Personally I'd guess that people do it when they feel they're ending a winning streak. Sometimes when I get a string of bad losses I zip up and only play VFs for a while - could be a similar thing.
That's mainly talking about ones like Tchichi who no longer use their main account. I guess the reasoning would be different for ExDeath and co who do.

I always assumed it was to protect precious ELO standings. Maybe not always the case...

Yeah it could be to protect ELO, but I think that those Avatars are also made to protect OUR ELO. For the same reason some mysterious players who almost always win with "0 played games" would play only VF As for Drewski playing recently?? Last Active: 308 days ago Bug for the diffenrences in his ELO between Spamwise and drewski, i think he mostly played "important" games with drewski. But I am not sure. Ah yes Spacca is Tchichi. I remember now that I did see it somewhere

Derfel, that's what I meant about ending a winning streak. Spez, that's true for some Warlocks but it clearly doesn't hold for the ones we were talking about, as they play Friendly/Ladder games. Unless perhaps they're selective about whose ELO they protect Heh. Guess I was wrong about drewski. I'm sure I remembered him being lower than that earlier this summer - late 1700/early 1800ish. Oh well.

My longest match is 76 turns vs INIQUITY, which seemed to me prone to generate immensely long mactch. I remember seeing in someone's profile that they had played a 97 turn match against him (?).
Don't know if anybody got trough the 100 turns in a "Normal game" (i mean, not doing -/- until it hits)

i think you're thinking of Rycchus, who had a 97 turn battle with Scram- i'm sure i remember seeing in somebody's profile about a match over 100 turns but can't for the life of me remember who it was... any claimers?

Longest match of all time -- no idea. Nawglan's your best bet, I think, if he has a way to search the archive for that. Of course, that leaves the possibility that the actual longest match was from the era the archive missed.
I want to say I hit 100 turns when I was a new player, maybe against rasteroid. Not sure though, and I'm sure I didn't go far beyond it if I did.
As for aliases: there are a number of reasons. Often it's to attempt some kind of challenge or to try out alternative tactics. Sometimes it's to get away from the pressures of rated play -- and that more often after a winning streak than a losing streak, from what I've seen.
I spent a year using alts for that last reason. Although I prefer using Slartucker, I didn't want to clog the high score lists if I wasn't actively accepting challenges. I reneged on that a little bit for the sake of publicizing the Refuge and the tournament. It's amazing how many messages you get from new players if you're the first player on the list.
