As one of the only 2000 plus warlocks to play consistently against a wide range of warlocks i can honestly say...your ELO takes a beating. Uh, that would be apart from any 2000+ Warlock who's frequently fallen off the ladder and climbed back up it? It's worth mentioning that ExDeath has played a pretty wide range of warlocks as Sasuke, and the experiment showed his caution regarding his ELO as ExDeath was in fact unjustified; he'd have come out ahead.

Nawglan, if you want to challenge me to a VF and ask me to treat it with utter seriousness, I'd have no qualms about that. (With as much utter seriousness as I currently have in my busy and preoccupied life Moreover, I have to imagine that playing any warlock above 1900, even in a VF they aren't paying meticulous attention to, would still provide plenty of material for you to learn from. As Taliesin is fond of saying, you need to master high-percentage play before you can get anything out of obsessive compulsive analysis of subtleties. And it's only those analyses ad absurdum that top players would pass on in a VF. The basic high quality play is automatic for most. Taliesin's comment about ExDeath's experiment is very relevant. I have long assumed the same would be true for me. I don't avoid Friendlies out of fear or any kind of spirit of exclusivity. I avoid them out of exhaustion. So it's a little frustrating to be accused of superficial ratings megalomania.

Although I may not have lost points in friendlies, it is still the case that winning many of them would grant me 0 points. Not much point in playing if the best you can do is draw.

meh, I'm happy to play anybody, anytime, any ELO. This game is fun. Were my ELO overly precious, I would have a constant supply of friendly challenges out there at any time. I can't say that many other warlock ever really do that...

Nope... there's only one Crazy Xade out there.. I do agree with Exdeath... there is no incentive to play a low ELO player in a rated game.. where you won't gain anything for a win, and stand to lose a ton for a loss. I like ELO. You kinda need to earn your way to the prize fights

I guess the question lies - who's ELO greater represents their skill?
my 1875 where I constantly play lower levels as well as higher levels, or your 1875 where you skip the no-gain, high loss games?
Considering ExDeath, two thumbs up, if you combined your games, you're still coming out on top. Wear that with pride. It is a mark of your skill.

I Like having Exdeath and Slucker (as examples, there are many...including myself) up top. They are benchmarks...goals...For burgeoning players a goal can be: a rated match against Exdeath. then you lose ten. then you might win one. Hey...everybody hates the top of the food chain...
...but it is case by case...i think the best owe it to the game itself to play agianst the players that show great potential and yes, even have the potential to beat you.

I would say that your score would be slightly deflated as compared to mine. So perhaps you deserve a couple more points to rate your true skill in matches, but i can keep my points for my skill in picking matches But in all seriousness... I would accept a rated match from anyone if challenged, but i'm cutting back on play for now... busy with work and all. I would simply rather play someone who is fairly rated as compared to their skill.
