I've given this a bit of study. If you have no initiative except the anti-spell, you can still do something like:
SPFPSDW?? xxxxPSDF xxxxPSDSF xxxxPSDSWD
The most common response I've seen is something like:
xxx-PDWPP xxx-WWSDSF
With the DSF cancelling the Fear
Anything else leads to a potential permanent disruption. In general, this weave is quite tight. However, it also leaves you wide open the turn after the permanency expires.
The counter-tactic I've developed is to continue to a Delay Effect or a second Anti-Spell:
PSDWSPFP xPSDSWxx
PSDWSSSP xPSDSWDS
I have not yet tested these thoroughly, but the potential to repeat the weave with either a banked Maladroitness or a two-gesture lead-in looks like the best available option.

I've had a bit of success following Permanency with DWW. If you can guarantee it, a permanent WWP isn't a bad thing to have. If you think they're likely to counter, you can do DWWF instead; if they don't have W on their other hand, you can get off Poison which, if combined with a disruption, is often fatal.
Also, don't forget about the potential to self-target PSDF. It makes you permanently immune to mindspells, which is arguably better than a permanent WWP.

Hey, I was *this* close to hitting you with Fear the turn you tried to charm yourself. Imagine, hitting your opponent with a mindspell with the intention of bouncing it...

Sorry if this has already been put in, but i've got this little diddy here.
Turn:0123456789012345 LH:BDPPSDFFDPPSFW-W RH:BPSWPFPPSFWPFD>W
Turn:0123456789012345 LH:BSWPPSD-WWSSPFPS (D) (W/F/P/S) RH:BPSDDPPWPPWWWSWF (P) (S) (F/D)
What i have the RH: SW on turn 13/14 prevents the use of the standard PDWP/WWSx defense (forcing a conservative W/W.) This allows me to sneak in a Cause Light as well as having a nicely staggered spellflow coming (50/50 possibility of either permanent charm or a double charm lightning bolt (or even a giant)

You can use the (sq bracket)pre(sq bracket) (sq bracket)/pre(sq bracket) tags around it to make it match up: Turn:0123456789012345 LH:BDPPSDFFDPPSFW-W RH:BPSWPFPPSFWPFD>W
Turn:0123456789012345 LH:BSWPPSD-WWSSPFPS (D) (W/F/P/S) RH:BPSDDPPWPPWWWSWF (P) (S) (F/D)
"code" doesn't seem to preserve leading whitespace, but "pre" does.
