Just so you don't think I am unwilling to compromise, let me offer you a solution. Just remove the titles altogether. Remove your title, my title, Taliesin's title. Replace them with Psychopoopoo or whatever the hell you want (although I'd prefer if mine be left blank). Delete this thread. I am not angry about my forum title being removed, I am angry that you're trying to change the terminology used to refer to still active and still good players. If you remove all of our titles completely, and delete this thread, I will be satisfied.

Is that really a banning that I'm hearing about?
A little harsh perhaps?

I'll say more about it tomorrow. I need to go to bed. For now, suffice it to say that the edited post above was nastier (and not conciliatory) before ExDeath edited it, and that some private words were also involved.

I don't know about you guys but i'm sponsored by Sukiyaki Pizza...why do you think i always open S/P. In the contract. As long as my ELO stays above 1900 i get a life time supply of frozen pizzas topped with dehydrated pork substitute and cabbage. Two months ago my ELO fell to 1880...hard times in the Toyotami household. Hard times.

Slarty, Speaking from previous experience elsewhere, banning people for personal disagreements and harsh words in a single thread (at least this is the only thread where I see active "combative" content) is not usually regarded as a best practice and is generally dis-encouraged. I hope you'll reconsider the decision and rescind ExDeath's ban. -Dubber :-)'

I knew this would turn into a very interesting thread.. lol at Toyo's post - man I wish I can get good enough for some sponsorship... I think since this site belongs to Slarty, he can do what ever he likes. Furthermore, this "master warlock" thing seems (IMO) a little overly important in some people's view... There has been many great players, Taliesin, Yaron, ExDeath, Tchichi, qwerty and a few more that I can't even remember their names... I certainly miss the challenge and the uncontrollable heart ponces every time I get a chance to play them... but in my mind, Dubber is the one only true Master of Warlocks here, he has been with Warlocks longer than anyone here, and he has probably brought in/mentored more players than anyone here, including myself (a long time ago)... without consistently active/dedicated players, Warlock would have been dead... On the other hand, I do believe we need more drama and flaming in Warlocks, this group is way too mellow, we need more hatreds and rivalries to get more games fights going... We should all start to keep track of our lost games to seek revenge, brag about nifty kills to make your rivals blood boiling.. etc.. I'll start, look at this game of mine with awall: games.ravenblack.net/warlocks?num=67882&full=1the bugger managed to get a double death from 3 vs 15 health..... when you are done laughing... know that his/her ass is on my hit list... right after the unbeatable Bio... now, if you are still reading, you must love me, then go send me a VF now!!! Thanks...

Hey, I never back down from a challenge, especially now that I'm out of the tournament.

Wow. I saw a first post of this thread in the morning, but I never could expected it would turn out like this. I guess my opinion on the matter isn't important anymore, so I'll just put an almost unrelated note. I challenged Bio to a game and he said to wait until the end of the tournament. That isn't entirely accurate. There was no challenge so far, only a 'threat' of challenge, and I just suggested delaying it until the end of round four, not until the end of the tourney. Edit wow, that's a lot of PMs I have. I'll update this post soon.

My apologies to everyone involved, but it is been a 3rd day of very big event for me (and there are 3 more to go), and I'm just falling asleep, so no big post from me today. I hope everybody will get along and everything will be sorted out by the time I'll log in next time (gonna be in another 20 hours or something).
Cheers

#1 So have we established the fact that there is no 'Master' or 'masters' in the game at this point?
#2 If so, would winning the Tournament make a case for achieving 'Master' status?
#3 And would that not also fulfill the requirement of dominating everyone else in the game, or does winning the tournament not mean that you have bested all of your peers consistently enough?

Succat That was basically discussed in 'Masters popular vote' thread. I'd like to sum up a few things for clarity sake (and NOT for flame sake). Before Refuge 'Master' was a common way to refer to outstanding warlock. There was no common agreement on if the exact warlock is Master or not. Later with Refuge forums opened, Slartucker introduced forum 'Master Titles', he did set up accordingly to his common sense and basically everybody agreed his choices was appropriate. You can check some quotes below for reference. Well, I guess Slarty has final say on the Master titles on this forum - before this, the "masters" were just a convenient way to refer to the handful of very dominant warlocks of the game's history. Oh, it's interesting to note, I was inactive when the masters were named, so I didn't even know I was a "master warlock" until after I came to these forums. Get a 70 ELO point gap between you and the rest of the pack, hold it for two or three months of active play without retiring, and you've got an excellent shot at being added. I feel that the current crowd at the top are strong enough that dominating them would be meaningful.
