Hi together. Thought about a rule variation and maybe somebody likes it. So here we go:
Speaking Spellflow(X) - All players agree to begin each sentence with the same letter actually used for their left hand gesture (e.g. LH: W -> player says "Welcome fiend!"). The X indicates how many silent turns each player may take before they must say something. It's not allowed to use the same word to start a sentence more than once each (X+1) * 10 turns. The word uttered should be understandable and in context of the game. If rule is broken... well nevermind, it's only fun. Maybe roleplaying could be interesting (try to roleplay a LH: paralysis chain in a Speaking Spellflow(0) game ;-) )
Feel free to correct, discuss or expand this rule. Bye, Krosmarc

Speaking Spellflow(0/1) sounds like a fun rule for league =)

On a stab, I suppose you quote a previous line somebody said?

Charm Person seems to break the game.

Only breaks X=0 (and sometimes X=1), right?

It can break anything up to X=5 or 6 under the right circumstances: PSDFPSDF XPSDFFFFF With a banked charm going off on turn 6. The opponent does have the option of messing up their spellflow on the turn after the paralysis in order to get their speech in, though.

Comments on some problematic gestures/spells:
Stab: you could post a comic like effect ^^ - : Maybe "..." could be used to show silence or a stumped surprise. Charm Person: If used as a competitive rule, Charm Person could award bonus/penalty points if reaction does/doesn't fit. Time Stop, Invisibility: The target of the spell may ignore the rule for hidden turns. Blindness: Opponents of blinded warlocks may ignore the rule for hidden turns. Anti-spell: The gesture _used_ has to be referenced, not the gesture _shown_. A follow up paralyse for the Anti-spell gesture '-', counts as used gesture.
//edit: corrected grammar and added anti-spell

One more found: Paralysis: Compare LH gesture and sentence like Charm Person for the _first_ Paralysis of a possible chain.
