Ok, so now I get why blindness ain't that great.
Here I am with the initiative and a I'm given a guaranteed blindness shot... and I'm thinking maybe just take cause light. Because after blindness I didn't really see anything to do to take advantage of it.
I tried it anyway, and he setup to counter amnesia on turn 2 and summoned an ogre on turn 3. Now it all worked out for me in the end because I didn't cast the amnesia and instead traded it for charm monster and finished with an ogre, but still...
It went from me making him react to what I was doing to me reacting to what he was doing....
So anyway, my point is, what is blindness good for? Other than a defense against something nasty about to be cast at you? You look at invis and there are a ton of combos coming out of invis... any good combos out of blindness?

Blindness is good for destroying monsters and for setting up stuff... of course you need to start setting the stuff up *before* you cast blindness.
such as: DWFFdx xxPSdF or DWFFdx xDFFdD or for masking something more unpleasant PSDWFFFFFD SWDWWFWDPP

In my opinion, the problem is the 2 D's.
As dubber said, things can be kinda nice if the other hand is leading into something (ie, PSDF), otherwise, you are always at least 2 turns away from actually doing *anything*. Which is generally enough time for someone to whip out an ogre or something that gets you on th eback foot.

It's a highly situational spell. Useful on occasion to kill ParaFoD, and as a threat out of Perm that doesn't cancel with a disruption. xxxxxxxxxD SPFPSDWFFD
It also has a very nice weave with SPFP: xDFWFD SPFPSDW which is frequently fatal.
It rids you of monsters, but if someone already has a monster out, the spellflow to get you there is very weak in initiative, and the double Ds are especially painful if you don't get to Blind them. Most of the time you should just take the Cause Light.

Blindness can be useful defensively. A couple of ParaFod escapes are possible. Then there is also the hilarious recent Vermont Blindness/Remove escape to a Perma/Antispell threat; games.ravenblack.net/warlocks?num=63596&turn=10Which appears to be genius, until you realise 3 turns later that it was sheer coincidence and a total oversight on Vermont's part, leading to the near certain defeat of RedHot. As I said, hilarious.

Blindness is good for destroying monsters and for setting up stuff... of course you need to start setting the stuff up *before* you cast blindness. such as: DWFFdx xxPSdFor DWFFdx xDFFdDThe problem with both of these weaves is that the Blindness doesn't actually do anything. Blinding your opponent doesn't make it any easier to hit with the subsequent charm or bolt - in fact, it becomes harder, because you weren't disrupting them with your other hand. The only spells I've ever found that work at all with blindness are ones where you're going to be targeting something other than your opponent, and he therefore can't defend it while blind: DFWFD xxPSDDNice because they can't protect the monster, guaranteeing you the charm. Not so nice, because if the monster has been around for any significant length of time, you've presumably taken significant damage while setting this up. Thanks to Slartucker and taliesin, btw, for opening my eyes to just how bad this weave actually is against anything larger than a goblin. DFWFD xxxPDWPUseful if they try to set up a turn 2 summon. You get hit once by it but guarantee that it goes away. Combine with Maladroit and a Goblin on the other hand to come out ahead if your opponent does something foolish like go for Antispell (note to self: don't do that again!). Alternatively, I suppose you could use this as a janky answer to Disease, but... seriously guys, there are better responses. PSDFWFD xSPFPSDWYeah, this one's classic. ... and that's about it. I suppose there's also: FFF xP
xDW xDWThis goes into any of... FFFFF xPSFW
xDWPP xDWx... or... FFFFF xPWPFD
xDWPPD xDWFFD

unless you DFWFDx WWPSDD
and otherwise blinding monster and charming opponent (with option to fake a charm you don't have with monster alive) DFWFDx xxPSDF
is a better play IMHO, unless you're both low on HP.
