I've been playing this game a while, and I never knew that elementals hit through invis....

As I said in the game, think of an elemental like a miniature storm. The only difference is that elemental damage is physical, so it can be shielded.

Yeah, I guess, I just didn't read it that way in the rules. To me, an elemental is a type of monster, and monsters can't attack invisible players. I read it as an elemental attacks everyone with a physical flaming attack, not "exploding" for 3 damage every turn.

heh, I almost lost to a 3 gamer recently by going to a delay DPPws? PSDwsS vs his CWSSW CWPPP Pretty silly stuff getting hit for 9 I figured I could take 6 cause new guy, with no resistances V's an elemental... (turned out I could cover 9 as well though. ) Will never forget it though!

In one of my early games against Toyo, I went perminvis but got stormed down to 2 health. So I'm sitting there, confident that I'm completely safe from harm, and this was when I learned about the CWWFP/CWSSW weave. I'd totally missed the possibility of an elemental, but fortunately I'd seen the RH:WSS and figured he was going to go for Ice Storm, so I had the counterspell ready.
I've been realizing lately that elementals aren't completely useless. They're still 95% bad, but they're decent for punishing delay or antispell out of invis.

I love elementals for how random they can make a game. Though I find that any player worth there salt will have a dispel of some kind waiting.

Enchantments versus Elementals still get me confused. Like, Confusion doesn't work on them, nor Fear, but Amnesia does? Or is it...? I forget.
Also, always fun to summon a creature targeted on an Elemental. Never done it? Try it.

*shakes fist* I just learnt that the rules are WRONG! "An Ice Elemental is instantly destroyed (and does not attack on the turn) by Fire Storm, Summon Fire Elemental, Resist Cold, Fireball or Ice Storm. " is what the rules state... sadly, the Ice Elemental I just threw a Fireball at found itself dissagreeing with that rule, and smashing me and my ogre for 3... boourns I say! boourns. (nah, it's alright... hey, you're ok)

I read it as an elemental attacks everyone with a physical flaming attack, not "exploding" for 3 damage every turn. The discrepancies between the rules counting elementals as monsters, and not counting them as monsters, have always annoyed me -- particularly since it would be so easy to fix those statements. The Refuge spell interactions page has a section covering elementals. Xade: are you absolutely sure there wasn't anything else happening that turn that messed up the fireball? (for example, an ice storm)
