Ok, so far all the rules have been subtle or less subtle tweaks on the game mechanics, usually in the form of some type of prohibition. Since Slartucker still isn't back yet, RedHot and I thought a crazy rule would be in order to keep things fun and interesting - the league is about fun, after all.
So, here is the proposed crazy rule:
-----------------
-----------------
Happy-Clappy April
You must clap within the first 10 turns (inclusive). Claps must be 2 handed, flailing half-claps do not count.
If, at the end of turn 10, one warlock has clapped and the other has not, the clapper wins.
If, at the end of turn 10, neither warlock has clapped, it is a tie.
If, at the end of turn 10, both warlocks have clapped, play proceeds as in a normal duel.
Addenda:
For games lasting <10 turns:
If the clapping-loser dies, it counts as a win for the clapper.
If the clapping-loser surrendered, the non-clapper wins.
For invisibility:
Invisible claps count as claps, but you do not have to mention them until turn 10. Honour system required.
-----------------
-----------------
So... will it be best to clap straight away and get it over with? Is it worth trying to get in an early CoL? Will haste be playable? Will Disease be a killer opener? I'm open to suggestions regarding the length of time available to clap; 10 turns may be too much or too little. If anyone thinks we've overlooked some fundamental flaw that means this won't work well, please feel free to say so.
Other points to mention; probably best if games are VF this month, and I think both players should type 'clap' every turn for the first 10 turns, lest anyone forget.
Don't hate me...
