August'08 Rule of Month (by BioLogIn with a help of many): A player must use every available gesture (CDFPSW>, '-' not included) at least once in turns 1-10, 11-20, etc.

a quick note about ELO pairings- I don't really like how this script behaves not, since while it tries to have the same average ELO for any group of players, it results in giving hardest opponents to players with lower ELO and easiest opponents to players with high ELO. But while I don't like it, I don't see an easy solution right now... and random pairings are way better, since they tend to create 'death groups' like awall+xade+Toyotami+Dubber+BioLogIn which lucky Freesoul got on a test run I tried before falling back to rating-based pairings.

It's always to the death for me. Much to my opponents delight.

Man... getting the other 5 gestures in is rarely a problem, and even stab isn't so bad... but having to clap every 10 turns is really cramping my style. Dunno how Rycchus and Masquerade managed to do every five. I've been hit by CoL twice now and not really been able to take advantage of the initiative that I got from it, because I had to clap a turn or two later myself.

Whoops, missed this.

Because randomness isn't always fair, but it is equally unfair to everybody. Rating-based pairings are a joke, you're just amplifying the disadvantages lesser players already have. It's a fun league, a 1600 should get an easy draw and win every once in awhile. Otherwise they'll get frustrated and leave.
