Okay, we start with S/W vs F/P.
I figure that I may scare out my opponent with P-Fod weave, since he stated that he is wary about being FoDed. Plus PWP would be not much worse then PSD due to SWD threat. So I go for it, and I'm rewarded with opponent's FPP on 5th turn. Initiative shifts back is Toyo fakes another SWD, forcing me to para self.
Not wanting to lose the tempo, I switch LH to W (I'd have no use for para in next few turns anyway). After a countered ogre Toyo goes for invis. I had a choice of sending him a para and going for an ogre, but I felt unconfident with possible outcomes of it (ogre would be an easy target for WFP, and my spellflow would be no better then Toyo's), so I elect to follow Toyo into invis two turns later.
We both opt for a goblin. Fortunately, Toyo doesn't guess the hand I summon with, but he heals his gobbie. He has to shotgun counter now, though, because I fake SPFP into SPSD, and since letting me have the PSDF through with PS in the other hand would not be the best idea, he counters at self again. So I charm the second gobbie - not that 2 goblins are much better then one (as we discussed later during the game), but I still had to remove it somehow.
My SWD on turn 16 was probably a mistake. SWP would have worked better. However, that at least gave me guarantee I will not be double charmed while my gobbies will be missled one by one. I had to make a risky play 17, not protecting any of gobbies, and not forcing them to attack each other, but I figured that losing both goblins still may worth paraing Toyo into PSDDD. However, it turns out all right, and as we break each other's spellflow my gobbies continue their assault. If I were in my opponent's shoes, I'd probably tried to accept 2 damage for a little PS initiative (I prepared WW for that), but who knows...
I decide to try and apply some pressure with poison should my opponent go for another charm, but he remains defensive with yet another W on LH 19. This promptly forces me back into para (more promptly then in should, maybe).
We swing back at forth, as Toyo summons another ogre (which immediately dies to gobbies) and goes for another invis (this time he got my para and a present). Seeing his D/P, I decide to go for invis again. We finally kill all goblins, and I try my best to sneak an ogre out, but Toyo perfectly calls it. So by 31th turn we exchange SPFP and I'm 2hp down.
However, Toyo decides to restart with SF/FF, which is IMHO not a good idea VS D/P I used. I fold to DSFW\PSFW (not wanting to eat more hits from gobbie even in exchange for charm). I make another suboptimal play of stabbing a gobbie, which successes and leaves me with ogre versus paraFoD. I run for para, and that guarantees me SPFP escape... should Toyo not switch for PWPSDD with LH. Luckily he misses the opportunity and opts to kill an ogre with WPFD. We mutually para each other, and that's where Toyo make an important mistake, he para's my F hand, allowing me to get another ogre into play. I think He should have para'd me into charm and try to defend the charm with DSF, but... I eat DPP, but I'm ready for it, and since Toyo plays defensively VS monsters, I manage to get him into complete defense, calling his stab right on turn 47. I replace damaged ogre with a fresh troll thanks to successful DFFD bluff, gaining 3hp advantage in process.
Toyo defends from troll assault supplied with para, but when he goes to double charm, I call it a day and abort FoD for another WPFD, leaving Toyo in 4. Everything goes as I want it to, I missed a charm, but still I have DSF to protect troll, and even if I eat another charm, troll still secures me from DFFDD or any other threat. Thus turn 60 could and should be the very end of this game, BUT I DECIDE TO PLAY "FLASHY" (read 'weakly') and leave the troll unprotected the very moment Toyo decides it is his last chance to grab it.
I was weary from this game (60th turn already, and Toyo's well-build defense exhausted me), but still I'm the only one to blame for this stupid misplay.
FoD 50-50 failed on the last turn has NOTHING to compare with disappointment I suffered. In a battle for 2k I was one turn away from sure victory, but gave it away myself. Still I tried my best to get myself together.
Suddenly I made 3 consecutive successful calls, allowing me to exchange the 2HP troll for my goblin, turning the tables once again.
By the turn 67 Toyo is at 1 and can die to my gobbie... which I decide not to summon TT We move into endgame with Toyo at 3 and with goblin, and with me at 6. I meddle with PW/WP, waiting for an opening, and constantly threating with WPFD. I attack on turn 72, when I'm in position to do virtually everything - wounds, FoD, haste, charm... However, my impatience grows again, and I opt for most obvious wounds, which Toyo counters totally right.
I'm soo annoyed with my mistakes that I let a few stupid words to be spoken on turn 74. My excuses to my opponent. However, on turn 75 I have Toyo cooked again! I target missle right and I have WP and he doesn't have W! I was SOO glad I can finally win this game after sooo many mistakes, so I promptly make another one - forget about shield Toyo has, and instead 3-1 with equal weaves (D/W), I stab and we end with 2-1 his D/W VS my >/D.
Toyo, however, make another suboptimal (IMHO) play with LH:S on turn 78 (should have been LH:W IMHO), so I was more then happy to end this comedy of errors on turn 80 with double death.
There could be only one morale in this story - no matter how big your ELO is, there is always room to improve. Which is especially true in my case.
P.S. I tried my best to get myself together after misplay with the troll. And I'm usually good in controlling myself. But it is easier said then done.
P.P.S. I'd like to thank Toyo for being awesome opponent and for always giving me the best challenge around. Both he and I has nothing to be proud of in this very game, but I ensure you, that most of you would have fallen way earlier then turn 60 when I finally screwed ))
P.P.P.S. Dhould anyone (especially Masters) will find a spare time to analyze this game and point out the moments I surely missed in this overview and the mistakes I surely have made, I'd be more then grateful.
