Howdy all,
Just wondering, are there many poker players in our midsts here?
Ex, I know you used to, you still playing?
I've been really getting into it over the past 6 months, and am quite enjoying the psycological aspects of it.
I think that my main strength in Warlocks is my ability to read what someone is going to do, which translates pretty well over there...
does anyone else find that at all?
or to take the thread completely off topic in the first post, has anyones warlock skills ever translated to other things

It's my job for 8 years, so yeah I still play. I agree that the skillsets are largely interchangeable, like the concept of leveling that I explained a few days ago. What do you play, NL Hold'em? Limit? Stud?

I "play" poker. Not professionally, but socially and online. Or at least i played a fair bit in college. Typically hosted a weekly casual hold em tourney, about 6 to 10 people.
I would probably equate my poker skill to my warlock skill. I know all the rules, the strategies, and such. But don't take the time to calculate the proper pot odds, or pay attention to others at the table, unless it really matters at the moment.
But i definately agree, my knowledge of warlocks helped me transition to poker. Taking advantage of initiative/position. Bluffing / shadowcasting.

Mostly low-limit on the cash tables, Hold'em for the most part. throw in the odd donk-ament, and it's all good. I like jumping into the Omaha Sit and Go's though. Sadly I don't have as much time to spend on it as I would like to, but find it very enjoyable. So, it's a job for you hey, what do you play?

Yeah, I definitely need to work on my pot odds calculator (ie - mah noggin), but I kinda got the rough odds (and implied) going on up there at the moment, which gets me through alright... Could be better though. I do pay attention to folk on the table though.

So, it's a job for you hey, what do you play? Gotta play everything, although I'm not great at Omaha H/L. My best games are Stud and 2-7 triple draw.

ha! 2-7 triple draw. I don't know anyone that plays that. I'm thinking about trying my hand at some horse tourneys, they look fun.

I'm one of those odd ducks that enjoy the occasional game of Razz.

Yeah, Razz is fun. I try to intentionally specialize in what other people aren't particularly good at, because the game I usually play is a mix game with 4-5 other pros, and calling the odd games gives me an advantage.
P.S. Happy birthday!
