So I'm not that big on gesture analysis, but I do like to draw comparisons from time to time.
We've talked about whether or not there are "styles" in Warlocks. We've compared different openings. We've discussed a little bit about old-school versus new-school. I am not keen on debating the different points. Checkout the list below from the link: www.gamerz.net/~fm/winning_game.html
1. Maximum Carnage: Offense is key, you try to inflict maximum damage quickly
2. Monster Mash: You try to summon lots of monsters to keep your opponent occupied while you cook up a potent offense
3. Trickery: You don't go for damage at all, you try to hit the opponent with FoD, Disease, Poison, Permanent Amnesia or the like.
4. Weather Wizardry: Build up resistance and go for storms and elementals (This happens more often in Melees than in Duels).
5. The Wall: Play defensively and wait for your opponent to leave you an opening.
6. Perpetual Paralysis: Basically one-handed play, both players end up using one hand for perpetual paralysis.
7. The Ninja: Player's main goal is to keep opponent off balance through confusion, amnesia, fear, blindness, invisibility, etc. and attacks at leisure.
I am not saying that this list can describe any one player, or that one player is only one of these characteristics. I'm only using the list to illustrate some characteristics of the game, and I am curious to know what your preferences are - if any, and what you "think" the preferences of some of your common opponents might be. Do you see tendencies in your opponents? Do you have tendencies yourself?
I can only "see" the game through my very narrow window, which is basically the matches I have played over and over against the same opponents, and from that I can glean certain tidbits of info about how my opponent thinks, or at least how I 'think' they think. But nothing is ever certain. And many times against a skilled opponent, I will find myself in what I like to call, a "DF" situation, where the odds seem about even for every option.
a) DFFD
b) DFFF
c) DFPW
d) DFWF
If you play against me a lot, you probably know I'm gonna choose option b) quite a bit. But I might switch it up too just to throw you
If I had to describe a couple of my opponents using the list, I might say:
Keep in mind it's a rough description and by no means a completely accurate assessment. I'd also like to know how some of you Masters would describe other Masters when you played them in ages past. Were there any tendencies you noticed, or no?
{Bonus question for Slartucker} What was the incident between you and Spacca in the Renaissance period? If that's not open for discussion, then disregard.

If I had to describe a couple of my opponents using the list, I might say:
- Toyotami ~ #5 The Wall. Perhaps a bit of #2 Monster Mash and #3 Trickery
- xade ~ #1 Max Carnage (but less than before), #3 Trickery, #6 Perpetual Paralysis (more common now). A bit of #7 The Ninja
- QnanG5284 ~ #6 Perpetual Paralysis
- Derfel ~ #1 Maximum Carnage, #2 Monster Mash
- SCARYGHOST ~ #8 Mysterious (not on the list)
