Traffic has started to pick up here recently. In part because of this (and because of awall getting some old gears in my brain going again) I'm working on a long-intended (read: over a year) update to the Refuge.
I'd also like to keep the traffic at at least its current level, rather than have the possibility of another 8 months of total silence. (By "traffic" of course I really mean useful and intelligent discussion of the game, not any kind of webcommerce quantum.) The past month has demonstrated that we have a small base of members who have a lot to say about intense analytical topics, and another small base of members who are mostly lurking right now, but who are all clearly respectable players in their own right. I think what we need is a little push getting topics of conversation started, particularly less intense ones.
So what I'd like to do is get a couple of people to commit to starting weekly discussion topics. Open-ended questions or themes that invite contributions from everyone. Warlocks_School did this during its brief existence four years ago, and that was actually the origin of some of the basic material on the Refuge. Maybe one strategy-related topic, one peripheral topic (alternate spellbooks, favourite spells, ethics of ELO, etc) and one non-warlocks topic.
Coincidentally there are three boards here and I can make moderators for them. I mention this as blunt enticement, since people seem to like official positions of power on the internet. It also might be useful in case I disappear for an entire summer again.
Any volunteers? Learned lurkers, I'm looking at you... ^_^
