As the member base and quantity of discussion continues to grow, it becomes evident that I'll need to expand the postcount rankings. I'd like to add new ones (at any point in the list) rather than just expand the territory for the current ones, forcing enterprising users like Dubber to revisit old titles. So I thought I'd see if anyone has suggestions for the list.
The current list is below. The more obscure of these come from titles once used by the Golden Dawn. They all give an example of the kind of thing I'm looking for.
Adeptus Exemptus Grammatica Prodigal Sorcerer Prestidigitator Archreviler Thaumaturge Incantator Binder of Spells Weaver of Spells Initiate (Philosophus) Initiate (Practicus) Initiate (Theoricus) Initiate (Zelator) Initiate Neophyte

Well, there are a lot of English words for magicians of different stripes.
Wizard Conjurer Sorcerer Enchanter Alchemist Necromancer Shaman Magus
I was also interested to note, on running out of good words and going to look at the thesaurus, that "Archmage" is not an English word (I came across it in Le Guin, I'm sure other writers have borrowed it) but "Archimage" is, and has the same meaning. That said, I kind of prefer the way Archmage sounds.
Another suggestion of my own: Magister Arcanum

Archmage certainly is an English word at this point; it's just a new one. English is very forgiving when it comes to forming new words by analogy. In this case I suspect the culprit was archbishop.

So, you may have noticed the ranks have changed. I had a field day looking stuff up on wikipedia, and there are now 48 different ranks, many of which are extremely cool. I won't give them all away, but the general categories are as follows:
0-23 posts: Initiates 24-47 posts: Sibyls 48-99 posts: Lesser Magi 100-332 posts: Greater Magi 333-666 posts: Powers
Why so high? This system should provide entertainment for a very long time before I need to expand it.

lol. I just noticed that I'm a "Stichomancer." What made me laugh was that I thought it was Schtick-o-master.
That's probably more accurate, anyway.
