I charm to > almost as frequently as to -, and frankly I'm surprised I'm the only one. There are lots of situations where there is no possible drawback to >, and a possible (although unlikely) benefit. If you gesture P or have Protection active, have no monsters, and there is no chance of FFF or DPP, there's no reason not to. Sure, there's rarely a reason for your opponent to target themselves, but I've gotten free damage from this off players as good as Surial. I do this occasionally, but it's a bit specific. You have to have a shield up yourself, for a start. Regarding charming to P... I generally ignore that possibility in my calculations. A failed charm-to-P ploy makes your Charm absolutely worthless and stands to rob you of whatever initiative you would have gotten, whereas a standard PSDFFD forces them on the defensive in a big way and leaves them in trouble if you have anything coming on the other hand. If I'm behind, I might Charm to P if it's my only hope of winning, but doing it and guessing wrong is likely to cost me the game. Generally, I assume my opponent will also play like I do so I don't worry too much about inputting P when charmed, although I almost always come out of being charmed with W anyway for obvious reasons. If you were going to charm their other hand from P to - , then it's arguably more useful to charm their other hand to P. They can't complete whatever it was (SPFP, etc.) on the one hand, and you've also disrupted their other hand. I see what you're saying and I wouldn't be likely to just randomly input a P instead of a -, but like surial says, there are times when it allows greater disruption. Also, expanding on what Taliesin said, sometimes if there are a lot of monsters about your opponent will risk a P/P, assuming you'll charm one of them to -. If you always charm - then there's no risk to them doing this. As an aside, I do remember catching Cobblers out in a melee with the P/P "gestures he intended anyway" quite early on, with no monsters or elementals in sight...

[ But in Warlocks, it's not one hand clapping. It's one hand trying to clap. It means your hand is desperately looking for another friendly hand to make a clapping noise with, and failing coz the other hand is doing something much better. A half-clap makes no noise. It sounds like you're suggesting if both players half-clap, they should be able to join together into a high five?

I wonder if any player could ever figure out a way of giving their opponent a valid gesture S/W/D/F in the hopes of luring them into a spell line that will spell their doom in 4 or 5 turns...kind of like a chess bait trap? Sounds like something Slucker and Taliesin can figure out...

Well, I kind of assumed the flailing half clap was in the direction of the hand attached to the same body, but hell, why not? ;D ;D

Play with the nice shiny clap of lightning..."

To go back on the charming P...me and Xade tourney game hinges on it...if he selects correct, he wins, if he slects wrong, he dies. To P or not to P...well Xadey...whats it gonna be?
EDIT: This has got me thinking about the deadlocked Pods...So much is and perhaps can be decided on the flip of a coin...
