I got to thinking, yes it hurt... (to paraphrase nawglan)
Since PDWP essentially negates spell effects at the end of a turn, wouldn't it be a fun if a well timed PDWP would also negate the effects of an FoD? (how about for any other spell-caused death, too?)
How would this change FoD strategy, if at all?
Would FoD become less-strong? or merely more difficult to pull off?
Thanks for your opinions...

"Would FoD become less-strong? or merely more difficult to pull off?" For FoD, isn't that the same thing? I mean, you don't don't become mostly dead... (ok, insert random Princess Bride / Holy Grail quotes at whim.)

ParaFoD would be much easier to beat, which would be good. PDWP/FoD would remain unaffected, which would also be good. I like it

Since when is FoD an enchantment? Ignoring for now the effects on gameplay, it just doesn't make sense. A spell so powerful that even a counterspell can't stop it... but it shrivels up and dies at a PDWP?

it would certainly add a bit of wriggle room on the ParaFoD... maybe even enough to remove it's absolute dominance over the un-prepared... But then, you shouldn't be unprepared... PW = watchout. Plus, rycc makes a pretty good semantic arguement as well. to be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of spell have a PD in the middle/end in order to have a better entrance into it... But hey, I guess it should be hard-ish to pull off, it's the ultimate defence.

Wholeheartedly disagree with PDWP beating FoD. Not an enchantment, and we already have cDPW to deal with it, not to mention cW.
Dude, when did I start speaking in random letters? Sheesh.

Well, I said "spell effects" not "enchantments" which would make PDWP more powerful. More like an "UnDo" than a "Remove."
So PDWP would "undo" the FoD effect (death) - it wouldn't "undo" the 4 damage the Giant's strike does, but it would "undo" the 5 damage from WDDc or DFFDD.
Maybe that makes it a 4 turn counterspell -- which *would* allow damage, but which *would not* be overcome by any spell including FoD?

More counterspells is the last thing this game needs. Particularly not the ability to cast a counterspell EVERY SINGLE TURN: PDWPPDWP WPPDWPPD

Hey, that's a cool spell chain, might be fun in melee, counter and remove enchant every other turn!
