From the Standings thread: I dunno if one battle wasn't reported or something else, but actually Maven is left with only one game to go (Spleenboy one), not two. This means we're left with 11 games to go, including 10 dummy games on spleenboy and sojobo and only 1 real game of dni VS Laxen: games.ravenblack.net/warlocks?num=62682Maven/Laxen hasn't been reported yet so Maven/Laxen & Laxen/dni are the last battles to go before finalization. -- right?

Yep, you're right. I'm deleting my non-relevant posts in standings thread )

Ok, I've seen the thread to "Make it official" regarding Spleenboy & Sojobo. How should I score these in the table?
Seems like it should be 1 win to each opponent & 5 losses to Spleeny & 5 losses to Soj -- but before I go editing the data, I'd like confirmation on how to handle this.
Thanks!

All games are now reflected in the standings, save one. Just waiting on the results of dni-Laxen for the official scores...
I went ahead and entered the Laxen - Maven results for them, as it hadn't been posted yet.

Here's an idea. How about a table with cumulative scores. At this point it would only hold 2 months worth of points, but it could be interesting to watch who plays the best on the most consistent level. It also might encourage players of not going all out in a specific month knowing that need a kill in a game for any chance at first place, this way a loss would have a some impact not only on this months score.

I'd prefer we didn't do that. Due to gaps in skill and the game count, this basically just creates a table that is less accurate than the Elo rankings, but more discouraging for newer players than the monthly league scores. Your second concern is addressed by the clan rules, though which I will be posting when I finish the 2007 tournament tallies, which I will be posting when I finish dealing with real life.

I enjoy the league. I like seeing the diversity of the table. Players of the calibre of myself, Nawglan, Xade, Jes, Maven and Vermont finishing near the bottom in one or both month is a testimony to the quality of match-ups and the intensity of competition. While the first place finishers have been no surprise (quality guys), there is more to learn from the top finishers too, such as a good showing from Biologin and a basic total dominance by Citanest (who just might quietly be the best player going around right now...whatever he is drinking, i want some).
Keep it up. Look forward to Feb.

I enjoy the league too. Gives the opportunity to play vs masters in a match they do care about =)
(still I wouldn't say that double 9th place is a 'good showing' =))

Nah, this comp is tough... anywhere in the positives is a thumbs up in my opinion...

toyo, that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me here.

Had it not required a bribe, it would have been better, but still.

I see why Slartucker isn't keen on that idea, but maybe a bronze, silver and gold medal could be given each month? Something fun to collect, recognisable as a real achievement, and a pat on the head for guys like me doing well without ever winning. Or should I just be patient for the clan stuff, Slartucker? ;D
