Laxen. I would like to claim the group of death for my pod which contains 3 of the top 6 warlocks entered by ELO.

I dunno, I think I'd rather reveal the teams later on and just be tantalised with the facts and figures for now.
Slarty did you read what I said about you deciding which pods will be versus which in the next round?

Laxen, while I dispute the calculation of the average ELO for your pod I am in agreement that it is higher than our pod. However I maintain my claim to the "pod of death" since our pod has the highest ELO of the third ranked warlock in the pod - 1853. I see the ELO of the third ranked warlock as significant as you must finish in the top 2 to progress.

Yeah, but, Spacca, you're above 1853. Actually, although this is still higher in your group, I'd stake the claim that it's the second highest ELO that's most important, as that's the level you have to play at or above to qualify. You're just speaking as the second ranked warlock, which is why you think the third is important For all the other places (including first, perhaps), it's the second.

Rycchus: I did read it. I'm going to randomize the brackets after round 1.

Spacca: No, I think Laxen's group's far and away harder for him than yours is for you.
'Tucker: I was suggesting you do the randomisation early so we know how it's gonna go. Then again, I'm not sure how this would work with byes or wildcards...

I think, Spacca, that any pod with you in it would be in the running for "Group of Death". You do rather bump up the average ELO.

What you all don't understand is that my pod is ACTUALLY the group of death. What you don't realize is that I am the finest assassin Vermont has to offer, and I will be doling out just rewards for anyone with the audacity to beat me.

My pod is the "Group of Dead". We're actually big Grateful Dead fans. Go Garcia.

Rycchus -- I'm randomizing by player. Seeding by pod would be a bad idea, I think.
As far as Vermont goes, I'm worried -- I may well be the only one here within driving distance of him!

Drive? I don't think you realize the type of assassin I am, nor the size of the scope on my rifle

No, I didn't mean seeding. By all means random, but it's just that the players are currently called "Winner Pod 1", "Runner-up Pod 1", "Winner Pod 2", etc.

One problem with that is it could theoretically encourage a player to throw his fourth game, if he's won three, and placing second in his pod would land him more favorable matchups in the coming rounds.
