First off I'd like to thank ExDeath for providing me with an incisive second opinion on short notice. He and I came to the same conclusion, both weakly favoring the same player, though we cited different parts of the battles.
In general the play was fairly high quality and also unusually evenly matched. Both Xade and Awall deserve to be commended for their play. Each had moments of outmaneuvering the other, but only brief moments; and they were in very similar number for each. It was difficult to suss out a winner.
In the end we both concluded that the least symmetrical point in the three games, the biggest departure from this equivocal state, was at the end of the first game, when Xade made a string of errors leading to his death by FOD. Therefore, I am awarding the match victory to Awall, and he advances to face Spacca in the Final Confrontation.
--
This makes for quite an anthemic final battle. The oldest surviving Master Warlock versus the newest breakthrough prodigy. The "sure thing" 40 pointer versus the unbeatable value 20 pointer. The most multiplicious in names versus the most straightforward. Old or New -- who will win?

Whatever you do, let's not decide the finals with a judgement if it ends up 1-1-1. Let them play until somebody wins 2 games.

Yeah, definitely. The final confrontation will definitely be played out until the bitter end.

Beat me to the punch, did you? Man, I'm disappointed by just how many of my wins this tournament have come from ParaFoD.

Yeah, definitely. The final confrontation will definitely be played out until the bitter end. This was not intended to suggest that the final confrontation should take as long as possible. I know it's been the holidays, but you guys have been doing less than 1 move every other day. Keep it moving please!

Sorry. The games are moving, but I think we both tend to take our time whenever a difficult move comes up. In my case, I'd rather take an extra day or so to make a move than do something dumb that costs me the game.

Careful. That's usually my logic and look how well that worked out for me.

An epic set of battles. Congratulations both to Spacca for his excellent play in the tournament and, of course, to Awall!
