I like the charm person rule this month, and it got me thinking about a bunch of new rule ideas. I'm sure at least half of these have already been thought of or something close to the idea.
Troll Berserkers: If a troll is in play no one can cast shield. Shield spells must be targeted at nobody. You can still cast protection.
Rage: DWS casts rage. A warlock affected by rage must choose < as one of his gestures next turn.
Rage has no effect on monsters, and is overwritten by other enchantments. (so it's not annoying to play with as a special rule).
Heal Monster: DS casts heal monster. It has no effect on warlocks. If it is cast on a monster it gains 1 hp to a max of one over it's starting hp. If cast at the same time as damage it can save the monsters life (like other healing works.)
If it's possibly necessary, damage and attacks on monsters should be cast at nobody and verbally declared. Monster health should be kept track of verbally if it is different then displayed health. If a monster should have died on a turn then it must be ordered to attack itself until dead. You cannot heal an elemental.
Fog: WWW casts fog. The turn after fog is cast no spells may target anyone but the caster and monsters must attack nobody. Elementals still attack normally. Any storm cast or dispel magic will cancel fog cast on the same turn. (Ideally all warlocks couldn't see each others gestures, but that doesn't work)
Anyone else got some good ideas?

Rage sounds like a great idea.
Troll Berserker is also neat, but successfully summoned trolls are very rare.

Fog, I just realized, is broken. Chaining WWW (or even WWWW in xade's version) means that nothing will happen in the game until your opponent casts dispel or a storm (or maybe an elemental). Storms are an awful idea considering that fog leads right into WWS. And dispel and elementals both begin with a clap, so you can fog until they clap and then do something else -- you've essentially gotten a free antispell with vastly more flexible spellflow and should be able to win from there.
This all means that the best response to an opponent starting a fog chain is simply to begin your own fog chain, so they can't take advantage of you. The game locks up *worse* than the D/P mirror loop!

But ideally, there would be a global invis effect in play. Not really a posible league rule... just an interesting potential spell effect... (naw! )

Global invis => race to time-stopped FoD But the person maintaining the invis only has one hand free, obviously he is not going to keep i up that long. I more see it as a temporary way to disrupt someone with strong initiative. If you keep it up long term then you are going to get owned. If my opponent kept up a long term fog I would cast an elemental protection, then haste and summon an elemental. Maybe let PDWP targeted at nobody also cancel fog?

Diversity Month
3 points for winning 1 point each for every type of monster (including elementals) you managed to summon while your opponent did not -1 point each for every type of monster you killed via any method except Dispel Magic, Remove Enchantment, Blindness, or Invisibility.

Nice. But If my ogre kills your goblin does that count as minus points? "I" didn't kill it... Otherwise summoning an elemental is probably going to get you a lot more minus points then the one you gain... Makes goblins pretty mean, your opponent has to use a really complicated way to kill them or lose points...

No, that wouldn't be minus points, and yes, it makes it virtually required to summon at least one goblin at some point. But more don't help if they give up the point. I agree that rule has too much effect.

If my opponent kept up a long term fog I would cast an elemental protection, then haste and summon an elemental. Haste, however, takes six turns to pull off. This is rather ample warning to break the fog chain, and people will be breaking the fog chain soon after they see PWP anyway because of the risk of Time-Stopped FoD. Agreed that it's not total lock-up, but I think it would slow the game down as badly as para.

Ok, how about it just makes everyone blind, but monsters can still attack, then it's definatly a bad idea to use more then a turn or two.

Ouch jeeze ok fine it's dead. Sorry.
Ok new idea:
Bodyguards
Spells besides Finger of death, poison and disease cannot be targeted at your opponent if he has a monster currently in play. Monsters cannot attack each other. Antispell destroys a monster it was targeted at at the end of the turn. (such monsters if not protected by a counterspell should be instructed to suicide next turn and do not prevent targeting their master the turn they are suiciding.)
