Merry christmas/new year all! this last game has been so swingy- personally, I know that I made the wrong 50/50 while invis- should have faked the timestop and pulled an amniesia. Ah well, now to figure a way out of Ellipisis huge advantage here.

Oh, and great call! On the plus side, we aren't delaying anyones games anymore- just delaying the result.

I agree with Bio here. I mean, given how close it's been throughout, it would've seemed wrong to win based on a momentary advantage the last few turns. I honestly thought my position was hopeless by turn 37, so the fact that this match is still ongoing is continuing to blow my mind.

Ellipsis - xade, game one overview (http://games.ravenblack.net/warlocks?num=76838) Ellipsis opens with SWP/PSD versus DPP/PSD. Don't try this at home, kids ) Xade get's a free ogre and moves into para. Ellipsis sneaks an ogre in play, but xade's para renders it useless for a while. I feel like W/W would have been much better for Ellipsis on T10 - actually, better enough to try to get back on the game. However, he did RH:P and succumbed to xade's paraFod.
Ellipsis - xade, game two overview (http://games.ravenblack.net/warlocks?num=76839) Ellipsis uses the same SWP/PSD versus xade's FFF/PSD, which is much more reasonable call imho ) Ellipsis threats LH:ogre on T4, so xade has to para LH. Xade played it safe with RH: DF - DP would have put him in better position, but should he been hit with DSF that'd be nasty... Still I think xade should have abandoned para earlier, gesturing P/W on T6 - with gobbie around at everything.
So, when the dust had cleared, Ellipsis was slightly behind on the initiative, but 4hp ahea (which makes my previous statement about xade's dominance in this game a little weird, I should make some errata =)). I'm not sure xade's RH:P on T12 was the best option - generally pressing with bolt fakes and/or para looks more promising, and it forks into Cures too, which is useful when you're 11 to opponent's 15. However, xade runs for paraFoD, which Ellipsis blocks with fool-proof defense (losing 3 HP to wounds, though). Ellipsis counter-attacks with permanency, but xade uses classic defense, and blocks all permanency attempts... but Ellipsis does a nice paraFod fake (which makes xade to go for SP instead of SW) and sneaks Haste in. I think Xade could have done much better by showing something like DP/PS on T24 - even if he is hit with para, he still threats Hasted players with DPP, which is MUCH better place to be comparing to double FF/FF =\ Ellipsis easily dodges that double\para and lands a Fireball, getting ahead on HP again. Xade does another weak move by not submitting W/W on T31, which leaves him with one counter to Ellipsis' ogre and bolt. Some weird things happen on T34, where xade thinks that he can allow ogre in (true), and that he can allow faking counter (false as proved by Ellipsis). Being at 1 to 10, xade soon surrenders.

#Eliipsis - Xade, final game (http://games.ravenblack.net/warlocks?num=76840, 82 turns) Elllipsis started with FFF/PSD, xade started with SWP/PSD. Ellipsis decides to para LH in T6 and prepares a WWP in RH, but xade didn't go for fireball and folded to gobbie, which was promptly shoot. As of T8, position kinda favours xade - he is 2hp ahead and Ellipsis is forced to defend incoming charm with DSF. However, xade doesn't fake charm on T10 and charms self instead, which looks like a weaker play and allows Ellipsis to force a charm through. A turn later they trade para and both clap - Ellipsis for Decease, xade for future Dispel.
Being 1hp ahead, xade is now behind on the initiative, because he is forced to go for cDPW with one hand. This allows Ellipsis to attack with CSP/CPS. Xade can counter only one of anti and ogre and (correctly) opts for Charm, letting an anti through and stabbing for 1. Classic defence against anti doesn't work here, since Ellipsis has para going, so xade nicely does a WSx/WPD (since Ellipsis paralyses LH). This defence is kinda interesting, but Ellipsis chooses the right play by abandoning para and hitting with charm (xade faked a counter here, but even if he'd cast it, he'd cast it at Ellipsis, so charming here was kinda safe play). This charm allows Ellipsis to attack with both Troll and Bolt, and xade correctly counters Troll, going to 9hp versus Ellipsis' 12hp.
So by turn 24 Ellipsis is 2HP ahead. I _think_ attacking with RH wounds would have been better then simply folding to WWP, but this definitely needs further research. On t26 DFWFd is countered, and Ellipsis' position looks solid. However, he doesn't go for invis (or fake one), and chooses defensive scenario, and gets punished fo it pretty quickly - xade fakes amnesia (not risking anything at all, btw) and suddenly Ellipsis faces an incoming DFFDD and PSF. For some OBSCURE reason Ellipsis charms self (probably he got 'greedy' and wanted xade to para self, but that was pretty high risk for the position...), and since xade decides to ignore the charm, xade gets both DFFDD and and ogre, which totally turns the tables. All these are consequences of a single T28 counter, mind you =)
The ogre is promptly dealt with, but Ellipsis immediately finds another source of problems by not showing a single W when opponent has DPx incoming. Yeah, it looked like xade would go for DPS/WFP, but even versus that PF/WP doesn't look good - you're wounded down to 5 and have to battle double charm with para (and no protection). But xade DPP's, and Ellipsis claps for his life on T34.
Now please pay close attention to this position. Ellipsis is at 6, xade is at 9. Ellipsis clapped, and he is sure that xade will go for FW/DP, so Ellipsis can't dispel. Now please note that CS/CP, because it was _very_ good. It is kinda rare to see CS in such position, but after some analysis one can figure out (as did Ellipsis) that this is the best way out - you need to set up some defences under DPP pressure, so you gonna have PP/WW, and SPP is way better then default WPP here.
Xade kinda goes for the throat with another wounds on T37, leaving Ellipsis at 4... I think going for FFF whould have been better for him, but I totally understand his reasoning - he got opponent down to 4 with ogre in play.... This gives Ellipsis a chance, and he uses it, going for double charm. xade misses first 50-50 and kill charmed ogre with WPFD. Ellipsis heals self, going back to 6 versus xade's 7. See how much was achieved by that good CSPP?
However, xade is still in the driver's seat, being 1hp up and having D/P to Elllipsis' D/W. This allows him into invis (D-Invis, para'd). Ellipsis does another INSANE thing - he flat-out goes for FOD with a single counter to back it up... All xade had to do was to go for something like SDFFF/SPSDF. But he kinda decided to make it funky and went for bolt+timestop. That second P was a sign, and Ellipsis read it al right, countering timestop. Suddenly, xade was forced to clap for his life into SP.
I think Ellipsis could have ended it on spot going for DFF on T55 - this way xade is forced to clap again and this is clear entrance into doublecharm setup. Still, blindness + permanency is a good combo, and permanent shield is a good thing when you're hanging around 5hp. On turns 62-63 xade trades 4HP for invis... not a good trade, but he didn't have much options. What he could have done, however, was to have to good flow off that invis... instead he does something like SWDPP/SxDFW... what was that, SFD? Was that versus possible haste or something? I dunno.
With Ellipsis at 8 and xade at 5 Ellipsis can kill on spot with any storm, so xade is forced into defence. On T75 xade gets another invis, but cannot use it freely, needing to gesture WSS to have an option of cancelling one storm with the other... doesn't work out well and resulted in WSSD spellflow. Ellipsis, on the other hand, is feeling alright and summons a gobbie. xade tries for a last-ditch effort with a bolt and a storm, but Ellipsis has one counter and that's all she wrote.
Well, that's it. That was some game indeed, with many decision points and other interesting things =)
