If I don't have to play him, give it to Vermont!...

Although I am biased, I have watched Vermont's games and I believe he played very well, upsetting Xade and being in a winning position vs Toyotami for the first part of the game. Actually, he was in a winning position in all 4 of his games after the first 10 turns or so. Not routed at all, and of the 4's he has had the toughest matchups (Except Derfel, but he lost to both Toyo and Xade).

I appreciate the support, folks. It's very kind of you to go to bat for me. However, in fairness, derfel scored the same number of points in the pod, including beating me. While I would certainly like to advance, I understand if he gets it in place of me. I'm sure we'd both be up for a real-time playoff to break the tie, but I know that is outside of this year's rules. It's also very kind of my three (yes, I only picked three) fantasy teammates to advance! Woo-hoo!

A 2 player playoff also wouldn't make any sense, given the numerous other players with 4 points.

Fair enough. (awaits decision with bated breath)

Derfel did beat Vermont and according to Swiss Tony that is what counts if one of those two are the most deserving of the final wildcard spot, which they probably are.

No Swiss Tourney rules! For three reasons: 1. I would lose. 2. The rules state it will be Slarty's judgment. 3. I would not win. Need I say more? Actually, I believe he has already covered this.

Who's to say we're even the most deserving? Looking around, there are a handful of "4 point finishers" who are probably worthy of advancing.

Could let Zugzy finish his 2 battles and he may get the 3 points he needs to get a wildcard. Likely to defeat Daukan all he needs is a draw of Reds....admittedly that may take some time going on his current rate.

You're right derfel. I guess the bottom line is that all this speculation is moot - let's just wait for the word from Slarty.

I wasn't excluding you from the "toughest" matchups, I was saying that you are the other 4-pointer who's had the toughest road, and since Vermont beat Xade I believe he has the edge.

Um... Maybe I missed the discussion but I thought there were only 2 players advancing per Pod? Spez, Rycchus, & Dubber are all listed as advancing from Pod 2... and that's a higher value of two than that which I normally associate with "2."
<edit> ...oh, or did I end up with one of the wildcard slots?</edit>

yes you got the 1st wild card with your 3 victories. The 2nd spot is up for discussion.
